"Jael" = Mountain Goat.

My van has a few names. My grandkids call her Bonnie, always have, and they are little kids. I've called her Bessavan. Anyway this westy goes by both names. Names indicate so much; attachment, belonging, personification. Yeah! Name that van!

After "Gangrene" I really have nothing... been trying... called it Volkenstein and it does nothing for me.

I am nameless :(

This is Betty

as in Betty Boop, aka Tranny Betty, cause Betty's got Balz. Her custom plate says, I love water. The origin of my handle, Slider, as in Sliding on Snow and Sliding on Surf (its all the same water)

this is her friend Betty Paige

All 3 of my vans have had female names, for me thats a requirement

First came Katrina, named after the Hurricane, shes a bit of a disaster. She had a custom plate CAREGV, as in Care enough to Give to Hurricane relief.

then came Sally, aka Sexy Sally Syncro, thanks to a girlfriend who liked to shag in her. She had a custom plate CASITAS, little houses.

Well I will not name mine after the things I found (old underwear) I just hate the name "Skid Marks"
Now that it is off-white I could call it "Untidy Whitey"

The Ghost Ship. Before I started working on her: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=602180&highlight=ghost

I don't think I need to explain how I came up with the name  I've been calling her "Ghostie" lately, as she's been getting the spa treatment.

andafiro wrote: My van wants to go as your van for Halloween. My first van looked like this and I decorated it for halloween with saws and chains was inside, jack-o-lanterns peeking through the holes in the canvas and some dolls hanging from the pop-top and something cooking on the stove I think. Was a hit in the neighborhood!

Back to naming vans...

Our first van was Domo, for the color/ silver grill.
Our next van is Frank the Tank. He is ex-military (like me!), and he will be built like a tank.…
I will post pictures when I can.

Just because it isn't green anymore, doesn't mean you can't still call it gangrene :)

Mossy and Humpy - I think you can figure it out:

by elimination yes :-)
but, moss is green, not red, LOL

and from reading your 1 quart per 300 miles report on Humpy, she may be more aptly named after the Exxon-Valdez: something along the lines of Tanker, Greasy, or even Tarry :-(

note,
My opinions are subject to change as I frequently disagree with myself after further reflection.

Yes, perhaps Grumpy or Leaky is more fitting. Mossy used to wear a. Black bra that was developing green trim :p

The syncro was already named "Sturmwagen" when I bought it, and I just kept the name.

My newly aquired Caravelle Coach was named "Manfred" after the previous owner, who was a rather famous Norwegian actor and comedian. He also had the Norwegian voice of the Mammoth Manfred (Manny) in the Ice Age movies.

The kids say I should have a mammoth plush toy on the dash :-)
