Can I change my fuel injection air filter/air box the opening is very small I'm thinking more air more power :D |

I was thinking of cutting off most of the cover and just leaving the outer ring and latches that hold the filter in but i don't know about the two huge vacume lines? runnung to yhe cover what are they for do i need them? I have a million questions! :lol: |

The metal piece with the click-on electrical connection that hangs off the air filter box is the MAF sensor. It sends a signal to the system which determines how much fuel to inject based on how open that flapper is. On newer FI systems, you can trick the system with cooler air using a cold air intake, but I don't think that is how this system works because it isn't measuring pressure it is measuring volume, and it can't really measure volume properly if it isn't using the stock air box. (I'm guessing on all this, btw)
There is a Bentley manual specifically for the Bosch Fuel Injection system. I haven't bought a copy yet, but it is highly recommended by others. |

That factory set up will give you plenty of air for the power that you are making. You are getting plenty of cold air.
I wouldn't touch it. |
