ALFA, for the Turd (I drive the most) about 200 a year.

ALFA, for the Death Bus (I "rarely" drive it) $120 a year
same for my 412

Farmers has a classic car coverage. I pay like $90 a year, but you're supposed to keep it under like 5,000 miles per year. Depends on how much you drive it I guess. Works for me since its usually the weekend cruise, VW events, or occasional road trip in the bus. I know a lot of you drive yours a lot more than that. Just my .02 ยข on the subject.

Mine is $36/ 6 months insured as a classic vehicle at State Farm Insurance. Same policy applies to both vans- '78 and '80 VW bus and vanagon.

I'm only about $300/year with Horace Mann, but then again I have my homeowner's policy with them also, which drastically cut the rates. When I was with Integon, later bought by GMAC (evil evil bastards - both of them) it was probably about $400/year.

I've called everywhere and still can't get under $136 monthly for my bus. You lucky bastards!

It tells you something about the excellent safety records our buses must have that these insurance costs are so low!

I just signed my 68 up for Hagerty. 250/500/100 Bodily inj.-Property damage, 100/300 uninsured motorist, $8000.00 (decided by me) Agreed replacement value-no deductable. Stipulations; Garage stored, not outside. Must have active insurance on a different daily driver throughout policy period, 3000 mile yearly limit. Premium....$139.00 per year. My existing insurance company treated it no differently than another vehicle and it was $600.00 per year and the replacement was a depreciated value which would probably be about $50.00. They also required an appraisal and a mechanics note of road worthiness. F.Y.I.

I drove mine there and drive it nearly daily along with the vanagon- I have two buses so it's easy to keep the mileage low enough to still qualify for the classic policy.
Road worthiness...mine is more reliable than most other autos on the road, plus it has style and uniqueness- there's nothing else like a bay bus!

It's hard to compare premiums on Personal Auto Policies...they are typically rated based on highly subjective factors like claims history, driving record, age of driver, use of vehicle, geographical location, credit score, etc... The carrier will take a basic rate and credit or debit it based on the factors they take in to consideration.
Basically, a person that lives in the country, is 40, and hasn't had a wreck in a while will pay far less for a policy than a person that is 20, lives in a metropolitan area, and has lots of speeding tickets. That's pretty much common sense, but, it makes it almost impossible to shop comparatively based on someone else's good deal.
Also, one thing worth mention is that it's also hard to compare premiums if you don't know what limits/coverages are included. This is going to be one of the biggest factors in figuring your premium.

I feel kinda embarrassed that I am at work (at an insurance company) and my way of goofing off is to post insurance advice to people.
