Just thought I'd post a reply here...since this gentleman was rather rude to me via email today. It seems as though most of his feedback is rather good, so maybe he was just having a bad day...
I emailed Anthony about some split bus safari glass that was for sale. The ad CLEARLY stated that he had wolfgang safari glass for 25 each. So seeing as how I needed them I emailed him and asked how much it would be to ship. He then said it would be 20 dollars shipped/insured to me. I then emailed back and asked for a total. Heres where the confusion starts. He replied with 90 dollars, when in fact, it should have been 70 dollars.
He then decided to tell me that 25 dollars was the "old price" and that the ad had been updated to the new price of 35 dollars each on June 12th, 2008, at 1:41 pm. He also added that my inquire was on Friday, June 13th, 2008...and that my browser had not refreshed the page so I was still seeing the old price.
Well I went back and checked the ad minutes after he had emailed me and told me that, on June 16th, and the ad STILL said it was 25 dollars each for the safari glass. I told him the ad still said 25 dollars and he said, and I quote, "fixed...either you need them or you dont right....".
20 dollars is not that much money...and I could easily handle paying the 90 dollars for the glass, which in my mind is still a great deal. However, I would have expected Anthony to handle this transaction a little bit better, ESPECIALLY being a member of ISP West.
Here is a link to the ad mentioned above, although it has been "fixed".

The price on the title of the add was clearly updated on June 12th, before you emailed on the 13th
as I explained if you actually inquired before that date, we would honored the price, just because the TEXT in the add itself was not updated as the title was, does not guarantee you the old price
Do I really need to add a line in each listing like " prices may change without notice " I hope not
I understand your disappointed that we will not sell them to you for $25 each and as I said before they are now $35 and you either need them or you don't... I have did research of other safari glass for sale around the internet and its still the best price available anywhere

The fact is that it was a mistake on your part. The best thing to do would have been to sell them to me, or anyone else that noticed it said 25 dollars for that price, and then fixed the ad. Rather than telling me that mid-transaction. Any other customer minded business would have done the same thing....you honor your ad and suck up your mistake...then fix it so you don't have to worry about it again. |

it sounds like you have it all figured out, now you can go into business for yourself and sell by YOUR own rules,
as I said before sorry your disappointed, but no transaction ever took place, only a few emails, please your welcome to continue your rant in the " Official whine about buses and parts for sale topic "

Actually...what I have figured out are basic business skills. I am by no means ranting...just using your feed-back thread for what it is for, therefore, there is no reason to talk about this issue elsewhere. Im still pretty amazed at your continued un-professionalism, as I am positive others will be too upon reading your responses. |

20 years ago you may have been correct... welcome to now... try getting even someone like bestbuy or wally world to honor an add that is confusing... hell if the TITLE of the add said the new price, why are you even complaining? |

Its funny that you mentioned Bestbuy, as I worked there for a couple years recently. When something was obviously priced wrong we had to honor that price. If the ad at Bestbuy said something was 100 dollars, and then you went in and saw a tag for it that said 50 dollars...What would you do? You would say something and they would honor the price and then fix the tag so it doesnt happen again. The title of the ad simply said 35-50 dollars. The price in the ad specifically said 25 dollars for the wolfgang glass, even after he "fixed" it. Like I said earlier, 20 dollars is not that much money, and I will probably buy the glass anyways eventually. But it is obvious that the situation was not handled professionally. |

i understand your frustration, but if the title said 35-50 and the description said 25, it should have been an indicator that one of the prices were wrong... i personally would have asked for clarification to know the real price... but that's just me, not trying to butt in....(FTR, if i went to bestbuy to buy an item that was advertised @ 100 dollars and was tagged at 50, i'd offer to buy two... ) |

Hahha I bet you would! The thing that got to me was when he told me that was the "old price". Well if thats the old price you should make sure your ad is COMPLETELY updated. And if I missed the price by a matter of hours....why couldnt he just honor that price one last time and then fix the ad to avoid this situation completely? |

can't answer that... but being a small business owner myself, it kinda comes down to, he made the change and if he doesn't stick to it, where do you draw the line at who to bend for and who not to..know what i mean? coulda been 50 people that missed the price change by minutes or hours.... |

I bought a bunch of stuff from this seller through ebay a few years ago. I have no complaints. I like the fact that he is willing to work with with me to get my items shipped via US Priority Mail since I live in Hawaii, rather than using UPS Ground like stated in some of his ads. |
