Hi all, 1st post
I've never owned or worked on a VW, but I bought my wife (she thinks a sweet little bug). It has been in the desert SW and has no rust, and it has not been molested, I don't care for the color (pink with white fenders) but it's her car.
I found the passenger side lower torsion arm had some play in it and suspected the inner bushing. I pulled the arm out and it looks like it is part of the problem. I could also see part of the bushing in the tube.
So I ask those with more experience than me.
the 1st 1/4" of the arm (using a cheap caliper) measures 36.99 MM and then drops to 36.58 MM for about 1 1/4" then tapers up to the bearing. I can feel the difference as well as see it. Is it toast?
