I have a set of Pedrini alloys that I want to fit to my '72 Super Beetle cabrio and am trying to source a set of wheelbolts.
Having read various threads here on The Samba about the correct bolts, I'm wondering if anyone on here has bought/used bolts sourced via Ebay?
There are 2 regular US-based sellers on Ebay who both offer what they claim to be the correct bolts for Pedrini/Mahle wheels, with the correct ball radius.
Can anyone confirm this?
I gather that these replacement bolts have a 17mm head and not the correct 19mm head but that doesn't bother me, there is no way I want to pay $20 each for the genuine Porsche bolts (or whatever is their current price) :lol: .
Am just concerned that these Ebay ads insist they are the correct bolts but posts made on The Samba say they aren't......
A definitive answer would be most welcome......

I've seen the ads. I've email the sellers and got the same answer... they have the correct ball seat.

But i've never seen them and would only buy them if they will allow them to be returned.

I have a set of both the real 914 bolts and the type they sell on ebay. They are not the same. Stay away from the ebay bolts, the radius is smaller so they only make contact with the wheel at the center of the bolt hole. Not good for the wheel and I have heard they won't stay tight.

Based on that information I'll give the Ebay bolts a miss then.

It's really annoying as the 2 different sellers on Ebay specifically say they are the correct bolts, but if the ball radius is smaller then they obviously are not.......
