I finally got contact with the old owner of the oval 8)
It's a funny story !
Especially the part of the front seat :lol:

Thank you for the mail and the pictures. I am very happy to see the car
again, in almost the same shape that it was when i sold it.
I have been a little bit worried that it hade been "chopped up" and sold in pieces, but now I feel great again !
Some old facts... The original cars that "the greyone" has been put together of was a late '55 and a '58. I bougt the '55 as a sleeping project that was pact down in boxes as a 1000 pieces puzzle.
You can allmost had called it as a barnfind. It had been put out of the roads in 1968 and then just standing still untill the late 90´s. I found it 2001. The puttogether mission started in April 2004.
It all started with a friend who had a '58 with a very bad body but a great chassi with narrowed beam, new breaks and four Centerline copies on. And it all was for sale....... At first I built it as an ratlook and showed it on Bug Run 2004.
But after a little while the hotrodder in me took over and other wings was put on and a black primer sprayed on, unsuccesfuly. That is wy its black inside.
PANIC IN MY GARAGE! No more black paint left... So that is how it became grey.
The scallops on the frontwings is a fast repair of my bad trying pinstriping.
**By the way, the original driverseat has been missing for many years now. The old man that put the car away took the seat too the forrest, to sit on while he was hunting elk. Some story...But its true!

BTW. Did you guys check out my pictures of the first Dutch Splitscreen ONLY Show from last weekend!?!
It really was a nice meeting with great weather and even better cars! ...It looked like FRANCE out there, VIVA LA FRANCE!

You guys aren't making any progress, so her's what I've been up to last week :D
Bought another car...........a 412LS !
And we're building a new engine for the '66, because the engine that we have will leave his last breath any moment now :lol:
In between, I'm working on Joop's bus to earn some goodies !
Mounted a set of OG safari''s, and next week we will start on his 1600 with dual 36 Webers :twisted:
