Did I miss something here? Is this bus pictured with historical evidence of Jimi Hendix and Janis Joplin playing Monopoly in the back? Maybe Jerry Garcia painted it and it was shortened by Paul Simon. It is definitely one or the other... unless eBay missed a decimal point. Please advise.

What's with the shortening thing? Seems like a ton of work. Why would anyone do that?

The crazy thing about this is that is the actual bid! Someone wants to drop 20k on that (as of right now)!

This bus could have been at Woodstock

Sounds like something Jerry Jess would say when he was flipping a bus...

It's safer to experiment with mind-expanding drugs in a shortened bus.

I have read on here about how the shipping price from Wolfsburg West always seems to rise once the item us shipped - I must say this did not happen on my last order, I was very happy.

So how does an eBay auction go from 153 bids.. $40,100 and one click later, 36 bids $19,900? eBay folks?

Bid retractions; it's all part of the dumpster fire we call eBay

That's when the seller has one of his buddies' place a bid on it to try and entice another fool to outbid him.
Then, when it doesn't work he retracts the bid.
Or,
Another Fool that previously bid far too much on it, comes to his senses (or his wife slaps him upside his head), and realizes it's just another poor driving,POS shorty Bus, and retracts his bid.
EBay proves there's an ass for every seat.

We don't know that it drives poorly (although it is a good possibility). I had a one door shorty for several months and it handled almost as well as a standard length bus. The previous owner had cut it to make it more maneuverable for backcountry trails and then traded it to us. The wheelbase is still long enough to consider it a reasonable vehicle.

That guy is crackers. As someone pointed out that's the going rate for done ones. Meanwhile all his prep work is likely sucking up moisture as we speak and beginning to crack and bubble as we speak.

I think the last couple of shortys I have bought have been for hundreds not thousands and they were cut up for metal to make other buses good again... anyone who would pay more then 3 or 4k for a novelty car has probably been riding the short bus for a number of years and is trying to re capture their youth.
