My wife, ah my wife. She is a teacher with an almost year round contract. (So much for "summers off".) Every night includes an hour or two of prep for the next day's classes. Recently she got into buying stuff on Ebay--mostly clothes. She won't buy unless the deal is great so it is not a lot of money. She would like to have hobbies such as doing more gardening, organizing 20 years of photos, volunteering at charitable organizations, exercise, etc. Our combined hobby is our 3 kids (although one is 18, in college and working 30 hrs/week) and enjoying them as much as possible. And I do squeeze in a bit of time on the bus from time to time.
With luck I retire in 2 years. I can then take over a lot of the household stuff so she can recreate more. |
