Two OUTSTANDING buses! Loogy, i've saved your pic before, Tony3, snatched yours as well. That shows just what a little "tweaking" can do for the Vanagon. Someday i'll have one, but for now its just up high westy's and Syncro's.

Thanks,
I removed the front spring and cut one full coil from it, which equals about one inch in ride height. In the back I heated the springs to match the front height and also removed the rear snubber. It still rides pretty good in the front but is almost bottomed out in the back.
Its not the right way to do it but it works, I`ve drivin it like this for at least two years with no problems. my future plan is to fab up some kind of air ride... 8)

Tony,

Forgot to ask what wheels those were on your van. Truly one of the nicest vans I've seen here in the states.

I am using AVO coils and shocks... Now that I look at the picture I posted, it might have been taken before the switch. In that case they are stock Carat springs...

Thanks for the comps!!!! :D
The wheels are Ronal 18x8 with a 35 offset, they bolt right up but I had to clearance the upper A arm a little.

H&R sprung with bilsteins.

Lookin for some super fly rims like those posts above.

(Not as low as my notchback in college, but hey... I'm 40 now!)

So the HR springs gives it a raked look? Or is the Vanagon on uneven pavement?
