I have a leak in the front of my bus. I have recently replaced the seals on my windshields and discovered that the drivers side was damaged at one point and poorly replaced. I have looked into getting the metal replaced wich I plan on fixing properly soon. (I bondoed it up temerarily before putting the new seal on.)
I get a leak that comes out at the steering collumn and at the drivers side of the tray. I was thinking that this was a problem due to the poor replacement of metal at the window but noticed that in heavy rain I was also leaking from the air vent.
Could the leak in my tray/steering column be coming from water taken in from the fresh air vent? is this a common problem? Where would water go that is taken in from those vents?
thanks,

I bought my 1957 bus many years ago and when I drove it during rainfall, water would get blown up through the two screens above the windshields and into the vent, where it would dribble out of the cover. I spread some roofing tar over the screens and that solved it but it , also, blocked off the air.

Get some black RTV and a small flat tip screw driver. Cut the tip on the RTV so it is very small. Use the screw driver to pry the seal away from the gass enough to put the tip in. Run a bead from 1-2" up the corner to the other side. I was living on that island where it rained frequently and the wind blew in the 50's with ZERO leaks. I did the same thing while I was stationed in the UK. You can also seal around the seal to the body if you want.

Thanks for the tip dubstyle! I think this will save me from replacing the bottom of the font window. At least for now. I bet that will do the trick.
