It's they way they are made diffrent sewing patrens if you look at them some have a flap on the front covering were the awnings starts another has extra screen hold downs then the diffrent colored vinyl gray, blue.
the tie down straps strings or straps ect.
The new one stan scored looks like the late style with out the flaps and snap ties instead of strings. Maybe the blue yellow and red blue are the last version is the last version.
I think the oldest one have the flaps and string ties and gray botom then they just started adding the updates extra hold downs, snap ties ect.
Maybe it,s time for a Tent book! |

hey abuspilot,
Did you notice where this tent is located?
Redbird central, that's right good old St. Louis. I'm taking it as a divine sign from the baseball gods that the Cards will be World Champs soon! |

The blue/yellow awning big top is on it's way from Missouri. I've had a few e-mails back and forth with the seller and it shipped out today.
Turns out his uncle had a '57 bus that the tent came with (not new). I asked for some pix of the '57, with or without the tent.
I also think the seller is a Cardinals fan as he mentioned the World Series in our last conversation.
Can't wait to see the tent in person! |

My big top with the blue and yellow awning showed up yesterday. It looks to be in very nice condit. The poles are super mint looking!
It even included an OE stake bag and lots of hardware!
I can't wait to use it for camping next season! |

I just got two nice long tent pole bags for my various Westy tent pole sets. I found them on-line at the Barre, VT army/navy store (www.vtarmynavy.com). Cost was $12.95 each plus $6.97 to ship me 2 of them. They should work well and are made out of 100% waterproof nylon. They have a drawstring and are 12" x 60". Plus it only took a couple days for them to show up.

Stanagon,
We just cleaned house with the world champs. To bad we were too late. Better luck next(this) yr right??? Got a rusty bus coming home in two wks and may run a thread like your mango thread. Mine is a 61 Kombi og paint etc.... My 4 yr old wants to paint it up like a Chicago Metra Engine. I just may let him rule the roost on this one. Might look cool??? Who knows what will happen.
PS- the tent offer still stands. |

Everyone was pretty quiet about this one; or maybe I missed a post about it.

No posts about the tent since the seller had it listed incorrectly.
I did win the auction but am being quite about it until it shows up at my front door.
I'll post pictures and more info when it's been set-up and inspected. |

Nice 1 Dave - good bit of hunting there.
It looks like you got it for the price of the bay window tent too!
(well, as UK prices go anyway) |

BarryL wrote: How close to Big Top poles are Bay Poles?
I've had one of each up side by side and a number of the Bay poles are shorter. The Bay tent has much less width to it than a big top. In my opinion the poles are not really interchangeable, other than the legs. |

If bay window tents are fetching 500 pounds over there I'll start shipping them that direction. |

I offered someone in the UK a Bay Window tent for $350 US with free shipping and they turned it down. I am guessing they would not turn it down if the profit was that extreme. |

That's a good deal, especially with the FREE shipping. I paid $250 for the current Bay window tent I own. I bought it at Litchfield 2 years ago and it was not set up. It is complete, with an original dark blue pole bag. It has a mild leak in the roof that I'm hoping to reseal with canvas waterfproof spray (from K-mart). Hopefully I'll set it up sometime this summer.
I've seen a lot of bay window tents on that big aucton site recently and they seem to range in price from about $350 to $500 or so. Big Tops seem to be selling for $1000 minimum, at auction. But they are out there. |
