I was thinking about installing Royale cockpit gauges, a temp, speedo, oil press.,volt, fuel, and tach. Does anyone have pics of any of these installed on there ride, if so where would be a good place to obtain the gauges and senders and such. Also what size is the speedo hole in the dash of a 63' bug.I know I could pull mine and measure but I'm hoping not to right now. Thanks for any help. |

Check out the gauge panels that go in the dash:

Here's my gauge set up to date in a 1964 Beetle. The mismatched left and right panels will ultimately be rectified-- it's just that the classic VDO mini-tach requires a larger hole than the panels available now. Finding a complete set of matching gauges (VDO Series 1) was impossible so I had North Hollywood Speedometer reface and bezel the twin CHTs and Voltmeter to match-- plus recalibrate the speedo and tach to 120 mph and 7K rpm respectively.

Thanks. The color is Herbie gray, a semi-gloss finish used to reduce glare and homogenize the multiple prop cars used in filming. Mine's a replica. |
