Discount Import Parts In Portland 2 locations

if you need parts there is:

L5 in salem, I havent' been out there but the prices i've seen seem pretty reasonable.

Always VW on 50th just south of hawthorne, there prices are real high.

The best place i've found for both prices and quality of service is

Autosport International in Vancouver. on hazel dell. Just across the river, not far at all.

if you go there and show them your oregon ID you don't have to pay the sales tax. The guys there are real helpful and can get just about anything you need.

If you're in the Willamette Valley, ther's a good shop in Springfield called Springfield German Import Service, and I heard that they are now doing only parts, no service any longer. Chiefly stock factory parts, air and water cooled, though they do have a few aftermarket parts, as well. In southern oregon there's Import Parts Center in Medford, along with a couple other shops in that area, but IPC is the only one I've ever shopped at. Might ask the guys over at www.sovw.com about VW shops, too. Good luck!

I use, silverton aircooled repair in Silverton! Steve is the owner/operator. I think he does a great job as I have brought my car there prolly... 10 times. He rebuilt my engine as well. Good luck

I will back that up, I only talked to him for about 20mins and he is super nice and very helpful. He let me come in a couple mins after they closed just to pick some bumpers out, plus he lets highschool kids come to his shop and pick out a bug to restore. Totally cool in my book

That's cool to hear, as I'd heard rumors that the guys at AutoSport tended to have attitude or something, but that was never the case with me. I only shopped there once, many moons ago, and didn't have a problem. I remember when they used to be one of the big sponsors of the Rose City Bug In and the Seattle Bugnationals, they'd come to the shows with huge displays of new parts in the vendors areas. Man, those were the days!

Brooks auto carries alot of vw parts, spent hundrends of dollars there and the guys are real cool. They are located in Eugene. The owner has one of the best looking vw Things I've seen.

Tom is a good guy, and he's about the only guy there that I'll deal with for VW stuff. There used to be one guy who worked there that was a complete dumbass, tried to sell me head studs as case bolts, as I just needed a 13mm through-bolt for bolting the case halves together. Tom's cool, though...just wished they had less EMPI crap on the wall, though I noticed they had a bit more Scat and Bugpack last time I was there.. ;-)

Just bought me a new brazilian rear apron today for my bug, only run me $26.95 at

Discount Import Parts
15100 SE Mcloughlin blvd

this place is great and very well organized. They have a decent size show room with parts displayed all over the walls and plenty of floor shelves with parts, and the part I like is that everything has a price tag on it. I've been in some places and nothing is marked, very frustrating. Also if your younger like me 22 then you will like this place because almost everyone that works there is 20-27 not like some old VW hippies you run into at some shops :)
