I was wondering if any fellow Missourians (I know you're few and far between) could help me out with any info on this place. A buddy of mine noticed it on MO 63, south of Jefferson City. He described it as a VW salvage yard. I live in the eastern part of the state, but I travel out that way once every month or so. I just thought I'd check to see if anyone knew what kind of stuff they had, how well it's been picked over and what the place/owner is like. Any info is much appriciated. Thanks. |

I have been there and they are super people. Have ove 100+ VW's and other H2O Vw's on their lot. Also do some repairing. Bought some new and used stuff from them for my Westys. Worth the trip and I need to go back. Also you might want to check Way Out Salvage in I think Kingston Arkansas. They are real nice and have lots on VW's too. |

Thanks alot, I knew someone would come through. Can you give me any idea how they are as far as part prices. Are they pretty flexible to wheeling and dealing or are they really firm? |

They seemed fair to me considering they are using this business for their living, They don't price things so high you won't come back are so cheap that you feel guilty. |

Damn, I wish I didn't have to work, I would totally go check out the swap meet and the salvage yard. I guess I could get sick.....with VW fever.
Which way are you coming from? Sounds like you might be near me. |

I guess I could have looked under your avatar for that, but thanks. It's good to know there's another VW guy relatively close. We don't get the advantage of the east and west coast guys with all their clubs and rust-free cars. It's rainy weather and salty roads for our VWs |

Its about a 1 hour drive for me to make it there from camdenton....but unfortunetly making it there didnt work into my schedule  ....And as far as that vw salvage place i went on a wild goose chase looking for that place when someone told me very poor directions a long time ago. I thought it was only a myth because i looked everywhere for that place and no luck. Thanks for posting the info about it......i can rest better knowing my miles and miles of driving wasnt realy spent looking for something that wasnt there...lol |

Whoever is going out there report back what they have! Ask 'em how much I could get a stub axle and a rear backing plate for. |

i went to jeff city for the swap meet and spent a ton of money...
i bought early pop-out windows for my 60 for $15 dollars... no that is not a type-o and i bought a white thing for 3k (57k og miles been in a barn for 15 years) that i am picking up tomorrow. we also plan on stopping by the B & C salvage place.
THe salvage yard is on 63... if you are driving down that road you cant miss it because there is a shortened white pre 67 bus that is used as a sign. cant miss it |

Wish I could say something kind, but I am having all the work these guys did redone. Mike comes across like a nice stoned hippy..all smiles, but you find out who he is when you decide to do business with him. Estimated 3-4 months to start work.......almost TWO(2) YEARS later they started. Called demanding money IMMEDIATELY for work completed, Out of the Blue!! I traveled to him next day, NONE of the work was done. He stuttered a bit, then started screaming. This happened THREE(3) times before I called it quits. Final cost of work was DOUBLE(2X) the orginal estimates! No joke. For pans, heater channels and lower rust repair only $7,000.00 and the work is Horrible at best. Again, I wish I could say something positive, but I am at a total loss and 2 years behind now. I hope this helps one person. Cheers. |
