An 11G and a 12 G are the same thing. Everyone calls them 11G's, for some reason. My car is a factory documented ragtop, and its a type 10/12G. |

-Most people call them 11G's because that designation is the more common (there are more around). Apparently, the earlest ragtop cars used a different numbering system in which they also had different I.D. plates, very few of these cars remain that is why 11G is used. |

Kevin, I have a question. If a 11G and a 12G is the same thing, Does a 11G exist? My copy of September 1950 Spare Parts book has a ragtop split on the cover and it's noted as a 11G. |

I think it must relate somehow to year of manufacture. I know most 52 ragtops I have seen at the 12G's (my car was actually built in early january 52 and has the 12g stamp. I will shoot a picture later when I get home. |

So if Johns '50 and '51 are 11G's and your early '52 is a 12G and if a deluxe LHD '53 is a 113, What is a '52 Zwitter?
Are these markings on the ID plate? What is the best way to clean the rust off?

Ok, I was sort of right. Here's the tags from my splits:
My '50 is a 10/11G and my '51 is a 10/12E
Go figure....?? |

My December 1952 Zwitter with OG rag is a 113. Tag is narrower (and maybe longer?) than both of John's tags above, and the one in the picture of the blue car . I think it is the same as an Oval tag????
I also would like to know a good way to clean the rust off of it.
I will try to get a good pic of it.
peace.............. |
