I was heading down to NC last night and my 1970 bus ran into a small problem. I was going about 60 and all of the sudden the dashboard lights, radio and engine turned off. Really the engine seemed to be running but it just seemed like it was not getting power. Thankfully, I was only 16 miles from my destination! Anyway, I had a friend bring me a new battery and that did not help. Ultimately, I reached under my dash moved some wires around and the dashboard lights came on and I was able to turn the engine over. So I guess my question is, has anyone ever seen this type of thing before? Or does anyone know a good place for me to start looking? My assumption is there is some sort of short in the wiring. Thanks for the help.

Check the red/white wire under fuse #8 or #9 or so, adjacent to it there is a heavy red that leads to the ignition switch via a connector. All should be secure.
