Hi everyone! I just purchased a 67 single cab from another Samba member and it came without a rear script. I purchased one, and now I see why it was probably never reinstalled after the paint job. The rubber washer and metal clips that go on the posts have to pass through a hole not much bigger than one of my fingers and then at least another inch before reaching the posts. So, anyone have any tricks to getting it done right? I’d prefer not to crazy glue or RTV it on.
Thanks!

Drill a hole in a wooden dowel to allow the pin on the emblem to enter, then tape, lightly glue or somehow attach the clip to the end of the dowel and push it on while you or a helper holds the emblem against the body.
A deep socket also works, get creative. |

Drilling a hole in a dowel, etc. is a great idea. Thank you. |

I used dumdum putty to hold the clip to a very small socket on a nutdriver handle, and it worked for most of them. I had one (in the middle IIRC) that I could not get a good angle on and after dropping half my clips in there I figured good enough... |
