I have a 1967 Sedan and just bought cheaper Brazilian door seals to redo the door edge weatherstrip. Got to keep out the rain. I tried installing them after removing the old ones but the profile looks different. The flap that covers the door lock latch doesn't seem to fit right. The flap when compared with the old looks like it has a much larger profile. Also this stuff seems to be much more puffy with a slightly larger profile 1/16 of an inch larger on the new seems to cause the problem. I installed it (dry-fit) but it seems that the puffiness is what is causing my problem. I can't close the door easily now at all. So here are the questions:
1) Why is this happening?
2) Is the German OEM version different in the the flap is a bit smaller over the door lock so that I can close the door properly and is the profile different/smaller?
3) Is it worth me buying the German OEM instead?
