I decided to give the stainless bumpers a try, given the cost of chrome bumpers here. A year on and they still look great. The rear of the bumper blades came painted light grey instead of black, but it looks better than I thought it would be

The backs of the bumpers were painted silver from the factory. |

| Thanks Keith. The ad for the bumpers when I bought them had pictures of the back of the bumpers in black. So I was very happy that they weren't when they arrived. |

| Zoofizsh, those SS euro blades do look nice! How about a shot or two of the rear? They beat the US spec bumpers by a long shot, but I just hate towel bars...I mean overriders. |

Hi, I bought the Vietnam bumpers on Ebay and finally got to install them.
They fit GREAT, no modifications at all needed. The guy's email is

You can contact him directly and can use my name (Ilana Holloway).

Those do look really nice, Ilana! Do you happen to know if they are available without towel bars? I've never liked the overrider look.
Now get those babies polished! ;) |

| I like the way the pieces fit together, but then they put those elongated holes for the bumper bolts. I would not be able to get over that. |

Yeah I wouldn't either , look at mine , they are not elongated at all , but I did have to do allot of work to make them go together correctly .. I guess since these are hand made , the guys who do the work just do whatever they want and if the make a mistake , they just say fu*k it ?? |

Two thumbs-up from us! Price, quality, fit & finish.
We received our stainless-steel Beetle bumpers today. Took us less than an hour to get them upwrapped, fitted, tightened, & installed into our 1964. Cost $500 shipped to San Diego California, paid with PayPal, and delivered within a week. Could not be happier with the fit, finish, & transaction with the online seller.
Here's their ad: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1169450.

Can you open and close your deck lid without it touching the bumper? Had issues with mine. Also, you are missing the reinforcement plates ( http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=111707121 ) between the bumper and the brackets. Might get you a little extra clearance if it's a bit too close. |
