Well the easiest most obvious feature which gives it away is dormatic seats.
if you have them then its a MW.

So no interior inside the dormy right now?

Hey Dave, I really really need a photo down the line of where the poptop edge meets the gutter. Like this photo below. But that photo is of my roof remake. I need to see where Dormy roof sits along that line. Can you do me a big favour and take a snap like this one of your Dormy?

didn't westy buy the roof and bunks straight off the same people as MW?

Anyone got an idea why martin Walter put the window hatches closer to the centre than just dead centre in their middle of that window cavity?

I have to remake them and rebuild them into my prototype and sure I can just copy Martin Walter but I like to think about and understand everything of their motives - I am like this because I lived in a Kombi for two years on the road without a break and there were so many many many deficiencies of camping which the original manufacturers overlook - in the end I started desiring this part from Westaflia, that part from Dormy, and so on.

I can't think why they put those hatches closer to the roof centre rather than simply dead middle of that quadrant's window cavity.

Not quite. Martin Walter made those roofs and supplied them to many other camper converters, including Westfalia.

Why are you doing this when you can buy a new one from dormobile for £400 Stg ??

Second guessing someone's intentions from 50 years ago is probably a pointless exercise!

My guess is they wanted to ensure the locking mechanisms were not out of reach when the roof is up. You've got something like 8.5 feet of headroom with a dormo roof up.

Because I dont know if the spittly poptop they sell will fit the old Brasilian Bay Kombi, which looks like a split-screen crossed with a bay-window.

2. Importing will cost another 400GBP, the case to ship it in my cost another 200GBP.

3. It will be taxed on the way in, never know how much - could be another 100GBP or more.

4. When I shipping my current poptop in it got stopped in the ports for 3 months due to strikes and a paper-work anomaly and I had to pay 1000GBP in storage-costs.

So I am looking at 1000GBP to get it here and then it might not even fit.

Sorry I gathered from you profile your location was the UK.

The only do one poptop which is designed for a bay. It just needs the roofline profile tweeked to fit a split :D

Oh I will change the Profile location. That has caused some confusion before.

Hi I'm hoping you might be able to help if you still have you bus. I have a curved Dormobile roof rack but no clamps, I'm trying to find someone who has some that may be able to help with photographs, so that I could get some made, if I can't get any originals. Thanks Kevin
