wow, I always tripped out on those little reflectors they put on them.

Also I can tell that 49 must have been sitting in a barn forever with all that dust on it. 8)

I think those little reflectors are a typical Belgian thing. I've seen them on numerous cars here.

Here are some more photos of the dusty 1949 :)

Just another picture I took yesterday.

Skim Sat Aug 26, 2006 4:10 am

How hard is it to back up with one of those things/ I mean does it wanna jacknife around?

steven wood Sat Aug 26, 2006 4:20 am

No idea, it bolts directly to the car so it shouldn't be that hard. I need to fabricate some mounts and get the taillight working. The color almost matches so I couldn't pass it up.

It's easy to back up. The wheel swivels around. The two arms on the front are mounted to the bumper brackets - basically the trailer is an extension of the car. BUT, it is very hard to see. You cannot see it in your rear view mirror. Also, if you are in a turn lane, make sure you are on the outside one! Or your trailer will hit the car next to you as it swings out when you turn.

My first try to upload a photo

This is my -52 rag with an 36hp express engine.
Photo taken early last spring.

Wiggy Sun Aug 27, 2006 10:50 am

NICE ENGINE!

Bengt H Sun Aug 27, 2006 11:15 am

Thanks Kevin, it has a litle higher comp, a reground camchaft and an Express twin carb setup and it pumps out 11 more hp than when it was delivered -55
I have the original engine also but it is more fun to drive with this one

Hebster52 Sun Aug 27, 2006 12:15 pm

Ok. I'll post pics of my splits.

The Hebster, a former 1952 split that I found cut up. The rearwindow section had been "saved" in the 80's and the rest was now rotting when I found it...

The -51... Maybe some day...?

And my latest:
A 3/4 split made from scrapmetal parts from 52-74...
(no, it isn't the rearwindow that is genuine -52 steel...)
