Flat black.............Black basecoat without clear or PPG's "dp series" sealer in black............they both dry flat black. |

Dont srpay just base coat or PPGs DP epoxy on your car. They have no UV protection and will break down and you will redo it about once a year. If you want flat black my reccomendation is PPG's Concept or single stage mixed with their 685 flatening agent. You will need a chart (local PPG dist.) to see how flat you wont it as to how much 685 to put in. Keep in mind everytime you touch your car you will leave shiny fingerprints on it when you finish it and Armor All dots everywhere. |

You can also purchase primer in a flat Black hue. |

Flat sucks to spray as the gloss changes with almost every stroke of the gun. It's much harder to get a decent flat than you would think. |

Ipaintem I'm using the 795 flattening base in my global bank and can't get a decent flat. Satin at best. I paint a few law enforcement vehicles a year and just order a flat. Is the 685 giving you a true flat? I do prefer satin as it is easier to maintain. |

Have you tried adding more, It takes quite a bit to get it flat. On the other hand It may not get completly flat like a rattle can primer. |

Is john Deere reduced and activated or straight from the can sprayable?
Because a while back i painted a cat scraper and the paint was ready to spray air dry. |

If you don't want to do rattle can, you can shoot ppg base coat with ppg mc161 clear coat and add in PPG M148 Flattening agent. At different ratio's you can get flat, eggshell, or semigloss. |

Quart Can and Spray gun? or rattle cans?
Looking to just do my hood.
My wheels are powder-coated satin, but want to do the hood and maybe bumpers. Maybe the chrome headlight rings and taillights too... |
