I got a bunch of parts with a couple VWs I bought, including a set of Porsche hubcaps like the below. Can anyone identify it?

Thanks!

They look like Porsche 'nipple caps'. They were a factory upgrade from the "baby moons".

Any idea what model or models? Or did all models share the same hubcaps for certain years?

A series for sure.....Pretty positive for the B's, but not too positive about the Pre-A's.

I think it was factory only for 60-61 t5 B's.

These 356 hubcaps were used on Supers until they went to the disc brakes on the C models. The other style available are the baby moon which look like standard wide five VW caps without the stamp.

The other style being for the Normal.

The "PORSCHE" letters are not on the crest... it is just blank. This differs from other pictures I've seen. Any idea why? Repro badges maybe?

Did the early baby moon (no markings) on exterior have any markings on the inside? If so, where were they marked ?

Paraphrased from a post I placed on the 356 Registry site:

There are three basic types of original 356 moon hubcaps:
- The unmarked caps, used until early 1954
- Lemmerz 9916 (high profile), used for 1954-59 model years
- Lemmerz 9160 (low profile), used on 356Bs

The Lemmerz caps are stamped on the backside of the lip with the manufacturer's logo, part number and date (month & year).

The pre-1954 caps are really rare, so if you have an unmarked cap, odds are it's a repro from the 1970s or later.

Yup repro from Taiwan most likely. Porsche copyright lawyers got after them and they pulled off PORSCHE and later even Stuttgart. Even JC Whitney sold the replicas 20 years ago.

So cool, I have unmarked baby moon hub caps from early 50's.
