I am getting ready to install new "THING" pans does anyone have any great advise to make it easier?

Mine are about to go in too, though I'm having them professionally installed. So far, the biggest concern has been with the condition of the inner rockers, which now seem to be ok. Will post more on the install as it happens - hopefully some of it useful.

It would be best to remove the body from the pan, take your time and cut as little as possible if need be to fit it.

If you are using quarter panels, make sure you leave as much metal as possible to overlap. If you want to save some money use ghia quarters. they have a different stamp pattern then the thing pans but they fit perfectly. I got a complete set from JC Whitney and surprisingly enough they were pretty good. Mig welder is a must, works great. I used POR 15 top and bottom to seal seams....worked great. If you use POR 15 make damn sure you use plenty of the metal prep to etch the new pans. I didn't and had poor adheasion in spots. Good luck
