Hey all...trying to find the proper name for a specific part missing from my '70 coupe project. This involves the rear quarter pop-out glass. Everything behind the door glass was absent.
So, I have glass coming, with pop-out latch and hinges. I have a set of pillars coming, I can get trim and the rubber molding.
What is the proper reference to the aluminum frames, screwed into the body, that the rubber molding slides over/into? Molding frame? Molding track?
Any reasonable ideas on sourcing, reproducing or fabbing? |

It goes by different names depending on who's selling it. Stuff like, quarter window seal channel, aluminum seal molding, etc. Searches with some combination of seal, channel, popout, pop out, quarter, molding, aluminum, etc will get you there.
I wouldn't recommend trying to slide the seal in. Get a proper set of plastic seal/trim tools if you don't have them yet to work the seal into the channel.
Also, for the popout seal, the one that airhead sells is the only that I could find in the US that actually has a molded curve so that it doesn't fold and pinch in the corner. The west coast metric/jbugs/cip1 seal is terrible: it's molded flat without a curve and it folds over in the rear corner...tried it and the only place it belongs is in the garbage.
