Picture?
The tool rolls are typically made of seat material, not headliner material.
The only perforated ones I have seen are Bay Window. |

| I shouldn't have said perf, more like textured feel, like seats. |

tool rolls were made out of whatever scraps they had laying around. I have a vinyl headliner tool roll. I also have a tool roll that is made out of vinyl sunroof cover material. I also have one made out of '60s beetle door panel material. all of those which I just mentioned were picked up at swap meets, so I don't know which cars they came out of.
I have a caramel brown one that was made out of the thinner material that was used to cover kick panels, that came out of a '59 kombi. (so it doesn't necesarily match the upholstery of the vehicle that it is in) there are also green light duty canvas ones. I asume that those were either made out of scraps from something that was supplied to volkswagenwerk in canvas bags or they sourced the canvas because they didn't have enough scraps of other stuff.
all that said, the majority of them are seat cover material. I just seek out the oddball ones at swap meets. I use the sunroof cover material one in my sunroof standard. |

I mis-spoke a bit, I have seen a lot of bags made out of door panel material too.
I like my Deluxe cross-hatch bag best:

| My '65 cover is the salt and pepper material. It's so cute I sleep with it often. |

Is that made out of circa 1961 interior panel material? The places on my bus where the interior panels were not exposed to UV look exactly like that. The parts that were exposed to UV, the fine crosshatch pattern has faded away.
BTW - Nice stash of goodies! |

I believe so but it has a soft liner inside.
The pattern is a lot crisper due to limited sun damage:

In the interest of concentrating replies, I added some additional information to the Bus Tool kit thread listed in the Bus FAQ:
