I have been fortunate enough to have benefitted from much of Russ' advice and infinite knowledge of type 3's...recently bought some hard-to-find linkage for Solex carbs from him...he sent me exactly what I needed very promptly and as promised. How nice to deal with a respectable and honorable man! I would highly recommend transactions with Russ-but only if you want to be treated fairly!

I usually check with or aggravate Russ before buying anything. Don't tell him but I only ask for a price to know what to pay. He is a real asset.

My car developed serious engine problems driving across country. I was stuck in Iowa trying to figure out what to do. I found Russ through The Samba. He gave me directions to his house, diagnosed my problem, gave me the option of him fixing it or leaving it at his house where I could arrange a transporter to pick it up. Then he gave me a ride back to my hotel.

I had him do the work. He was very fair in his pricing of used parts even though I was in no position to negotiate. When I flew back to pick up my car, he met me at the airport and had arranged things so we didn't even have to go back to his house to drop him off. My car is running great.

Great mechanic. Great guy.

Bought a fuel pump from Russ.
Had a problem with it.
He went above and beyond typical expectations to rectify this problem.
He's a great person to deal with!

Sent my spindles to Russ for king pin repair. He turned them around in 24 hours. Quality is excellent, price better than local.

Communication was excellent.

Would certainly do business with again. Thanks Russ for all your help keeing this forum running.

I recently made 2 purchases from Russ. I received my parts fast, and in good condition. also the parts he sells are as described. I would do business with him any time. Great guy to have with us in the VW world.

Just bought a fuel pump relay from Russ. It was exactly as described and packaged very well. Russ even sent me a photo showing the relay's he had and even recommended the correct relay to use for my application. Thanks again Russ.

needed a new starter for the frankensquare and Russ had one for a decent price...

drove up to pick it up and spent a day with Russ, bobnotch, suesanctuary and bigvwhead in Russ' shop organizing and sorting....

came home with a few extra bits and at a great price!

I ordered a pair of front drums from Russ. He was quick in responding to questions and even faster shipping them.

I doubt that will be my last transaction with him. It's nice to know there's a supplier and fount of knowledge nearby.

Can't say enough good things about Russ. He's a tremendous resource on the forums and as a seller. Purchased a pair of brake drums from Russ on Monday and they were waiting for me when I got home today. Thanks!

Sent my drop spindles w/ carriers, new king/link pins, and new bushings from NY. He advised me when he picked them up from the PO and advised 30 min after that the job was done...... Now hows that for service!!!!!! :wink:
