I have a 1600 engine that I wish to install into a 6V swing axle tranny. If I have read the posts dealing with this correctly, I should be able to use the 6V flywheel that I have from the old engine, along with the metal and paper gaskets that are used for this flywheel, on this motor? I wish to avoid having to grind out the bellhousing and switching the starter if all I have to do is swap the flywheel and reset the endplay.

Might try this guy and see if he has a 6V 66 USA model flywheel with o-ring and 180mm clutch or even a 6V bus flywheel with o ring and 200mm clutch.

I will give him a try, thanks!

I have had no problems putting 6V flywheels on 12V cranks. You do have to reset the crank endplay. And you use JUST the steel gasket, NEVER both.

6V oring flywheels were a late one year only flywheel. 66 T-3 only.

I have found them on all the original 1300 type 1 66 cars I've ever had?

I think the 200 MM clutch ones came off 65 and 66 type 2's... I have had several of those over the years come my way.

I prefer the o ring flywheels on 13-1600 based engines myself. Looks like that guy has a pile of flywheels there, might get lucky...

Ok, so one gasket. If you just use the metal one, what are the paper ones used for? I am not familiar with the earlier flywheel setups, but I have a handful of gasket sets that all have metal and paper flywheel gaskets in them, and was wondering which to use.
