Hi, Sambas
Considering fitting some opening rear/side windows in my 79 UK-spec bus.
As you folk in the US got all the fancy stuff, would be interested to hear what VW's standard setup was. Have taken a look through pics in the Gallery - appears that standard was a rear vent window fitted in the sliding door, and another single vent fitted in the rear window on the opposite side to the slider. Is this the case, and was this only on Kombis or Deluxes? Assume this setup meant that folk in the middle and rear seats got one window's-worth of fresh air each.
There do also appear to be sliding rear windows, like today's Brazilian busses. When did these take over from swivelling vents?
Re the opening vents - these have a separate frame for the vent, yes? Could I use the standard all-around window seal if I replaced my fixed glass with opening windows?
All info welcome!
