Here’s a video of the camping trip, starting with no snow to a full on storm
My 4 year old diesel heater never let me down. |

Not a pic but an anecdote. Years ago I had a '77 Westy which was my year-round daily driver. I had found an Eberspacher BA6 gas heater in a junkyard (better heat than any water cooled car), and put snows on all fours, but here in PA some of the mountainous areas could be treacherous - and I lived on top of one. One day driving home from work (pre-BusDepot so it felt like real work!) mid-day after a surprise snow storm, I just couldn't get enough traction to make it the last mile home up the mountain. After four failed attempts, it occurred to me that driving in reverse I'd basically have front-wheel-drive. Not a huge difference as either way the weight was still over the drive axles, but something different to try and the rear-steering might help (or not?). So I tried it. People looked at me funny, but the fifth try was the charm. I got home. |

Looking towards Mt. Shasta from Mt. Ashland Ski Area
My younger brother and I took my bus up to Mt. Ashland in southern Oregon this Monday. First real trip in the snow, the bus did great. Didn't even have
to chain up, I'm honestly pretty excited to see how well it does with chains.
We were pretty amused to see 4x4s spinning all 4 tires as we toodled up the hill behind them. |

You are welcome to move to the Okanagan or the Kootenays, LOL! I am liking the year without snow so far. Last winter I shoveled too much of it... However the rain is slightly less cheery... |

Getting our first white stuff tomorrow. I’ve forgotten how to get snow off my 1972, is there a video here? I’ll settle for a 1970 video if I have to. |

I'd love to! I grew up in "Onterrible" (Ontario) living between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie so we always had snow every winter and then I lived in the mountains in Colorado and BC before moving overseas for 12 years and now in Vancouver for 18 years, so not much snow for the last 30 years unless we drive/drove to it to go skiing/snowboarding. We get o Revelstoke and Silver Star a few times each winter but tend to stay local and head to eiher Grouse or Cypress mtns.
My colleague lives and works remotely from the 100 Mile House area and talks about the snow often but they have a tractor with a snow blower and all the tools to make it less labour intensive.
It looks like we will get some below freezing weather over the next few weeks so maybe we'll see some snow. |

Both the Early bay and Late bay snow-brooming videos are private now.
Here's a statement from erb regarding his legendary 21-minute magnum opus instructional performance art: "how to use the busses campstove"
erb wrote: I apologize I had to take the vid down sadly someone actually thought it was real, and not staged and not a tv show, its a tv show its not real its humor so i accept no responsibility for following instructions i am willing to give the password out to watch the video if you wanted its a good laugh just realize its all fake its tv..and cash donation might move that to free watches.
I guess i could make real video if you wanted.
Except the campstove video is still up; I'm re-linking it here as a PSA for all who are getting copius snow in Jan 2025 and might have to deal with power outages...
You are all welcome

Uploaded a later pic and forgot to post it. The official count for my town was something like 17.5 inches.
Spent a lot of time digging the driveway today! |

not much mate...maybe a day a year, then it sits and turns to slush or freezez and causes mayhem.

Our mild weather has been sending all the snow eastwards to you folks; considering the carnage the last two big storms did, I am ok with that (one school just reopened a year after all the trees fell on it). Also, not sure how my Vantras will get up our steep icy hills.
I did recently find a pic from Feb 23, which at least was a 'fun' storm for us.
Hoping we get some weather to try the 65 s/c out in the snow... |

I built a glacier last night, after the snow plow finally got our cul-de-sac yesterday morning and built a giant berm of snow in front of the driveway.
Currently taking bets on when I'll be able to get the Buses out again!
Possibility of 1-3 inches again tonight. Bleaugh |
