| I have a 57 oval ragtop I am starting to work on.I have had the car for a while now and just started working on it. Anyway,I finally got the interior out of the car and decided to check the body #'s against the chassis #'s.The body number is 419834 and the chassis number is 1411852. Being a novice at delivering these cars can anyone tell me what these numbers mean.I know the chassis number should match the body number but that is all. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks! |

Here you can find the chassis numbers of type 1 cars (bugs). I think your car was produced in Januari 1957, because #1427 291 was the last car being produced that month.
You might want to order a birth certificate if you would like to find out some more information about your car (exact production date, delivery destination, original color and options)

| Thanks Peter...I am really trying to find out info on the body...I know the body and chassis numbers should match but it would appear that they were produced within a couple months of one another |
