Am I right in thinking that originally barndoor front bench seats did not come with piping like standards/deluxes etc..

If so.. can someone describe how the edges are 'finished'

Need to get my bench seat recovered, but not sure how it should look around the edges?

Is it supposed to be like this?

Cheers

Deano

Should be just like that dean. Deluxes and standrards had piping, kombis and panels didn't.

I also need to get my front seat retrimmed Dean.

There is enough of my original covers left to use as a template and the stitching of the edges is still in place too.

I have the black vinyl already but have no idea where to get the covers made.

Maybe we could have both sets made at the same time.
Do you have somewhere in mind?

I was going to take it to a trimmer round my way who did my 58...

I have the correct material from Duncan Fagg so was going to get that put on the seat bases I have.. horsehair underlay is ok too.. but they wouldn't be removeable covers. :?

We are trying to do the same thing.

I also have the correct material from Duncan and intend to reuse everything else.

I'll email you.

Yep, that's the original material and that's the front seat in my '53 Panel.

Nah... Spit spot as mary poppins once said..

Ok, for you Dai... i'll refrain from cleaning a few bolts, and i'm thinking of using my OG cargo door rubbers as they're nice and squishy.. popular word at the moment
