| I have a really rusty, hammered rear bumper. Has anyone ever converted one to a truck style? I can't afford $1400 for the real deal. But I could hack mine into a fakey.Would that be so wrong? |

You could hammer it out into truck shape? I'm not sure if that is possible though?
They do not go for anywhere near $1400 as far as I know. The last NOS one I saw was $1000. |

it sounds like you would be better to pay the $1,400.00 for one if you know where one is at for that price....it would save you alot of labor.
or you could wait until they are reproduced....they do them in steel for the bus.....surely the trucks could be done. |

Ev-A couple just sold here for around the $1200 to $1400 range and they were used. Perhaps I should wait until prices edge down.
Anyone know if Gerson is planning on reproing them? Or have lead on a decent used one? Hammering and welding is OK. |

Well in that case I have one I would sell for $1200 because that is stupid money. Used but straight. In primer.
This is the only one I see:

There was another one for $1K a while back IIRC. |

Gerson mentioned to me that he was going to start making them in the near future. |

It sure seems like stupid money, but what do I know. If they are selling for that, they certainly must be worth it. |
