Went to TJ last weekend, first time in 25 years. Thought I'd see 5-10 body/paint shops. What a surprise! Saw dozens and dozens and dozens! Just as many upholstery "shops". One guy quoted $400 to cover seats/bed. How can you find a GOOD shop out of so many? Anyone have work (paint/body/uphol) done down there? Prices? Quality???

Thanks Boys----Let me know how the camaro turns out. I'm getting some rust work done in September at the "Rust Box" in Ventura California. Great guys. Then I'll take er down south to get the rest done. Gotta kill the cancer before i cover it up ya know? Not too much of it though! Take care and let me know! CJ

idbrn4u.... No Problemo..It's more Better, si. I had my seats/headliner/window tint and some minor bodywork done on my 68 bus..the seat came out ok..the headliner I bought up here and had them install it..they got glue everywhere and messed up my back seats. the window tint was three different shades..I didn't save any money either..I could have bought seat covers from TMI for less..Basiclly I paid more for a crapy job..Did you see on the news the other day about the guy who bought a car at the auto auction in Chula Vista and took it down to TJ to have it painted..they found drugs in it and now he is sitting mexican jail.I have heard too many horror stories about Tijuana paint jobs...IMO it's a big gamble.. I also had the hood painted on my Mazda P/U.down there.it looked like black taffy ,,all think and bubbly. You would be better getting it painted at Maco.

AHHHHH-nite mare on taco street. I'm gettin the hibee-jeebees. Maybe I'll just take my time, sip a corona, and enjoy my bus; one small project at a time! But, I'll do it here in So Cal. aka: North Mexico! Thanks for the tip. CJ

Any update on the camaro paint job? Are there really any good and cheap body shops in TJ or is it just an urban legend?
