All, Looking for recommendations on a Quality fuel pump for a '74. I just put one of those cheapie Euromax pumps in and it leaked really bad at the crimped seams right out of the box. Thankfully I noticed it quickly and shut things down. Anybody bought a pump recently for an alternator engine and is happy with what they got?

Mechanical Fuel Pump, Upright Engine w/Alternator, 113-127-025G is used on volkswagen upright engines when equipped with an alternator (1973 1/2-1974). But you can use this on any year upright engine if you use the shorter Push Rod.
This pump is shorter, and uses a shorter pump push rod, which gives you clearance to R&R the pump with the larger diameter alternator sitting above it. If you assemble an alternator equipped engine with a generator style pump, you'll find you cannot get the pump off with the alternator in the way (that's the price of education!). The solution is to put an "Alternator Pump" and push rod on to prevent this headache.
This pump uses a C Clip on the pivot pin to prevent it from falling out! |
