I am replacing the inner and outer wheel bearings and seals on both wheels. any tips beyond the bentley book?
Also replacing the struts, bought new struts and spring compresser. any tips beyond the bentley book?
Also bought a bushing replacement kit, thought I better do what I can before alignment. any tips on installing these?
Also when aligning should I get the front only or all four?
Any help will be appreciated.

| I had all that done on my 79 vert as well, to cure a bad shaking problem at 55 mph. It got rid of just about all the shakes, but there's still 1% left. If that happens to you, don't go crazy over it. And you should save the alignment until all the front end work is finished. Remember also to balance the wheels. I'm not aware that you can align the back wheels on a VW. It doesn't look like there's anywhere to adjust them. Am I wrong, folks? |
