Whenever I think that I have built some stuff, I look at what the Brits are doing bringing barndoors back from the dead, and I realize that all I am doing is really easy simple work. They are doing the crazy work saving everything that others would part out and throw away.

Massive props to Ben, Irv and team on that bus.

Great comparison as both videos show the very same bus built by Florian.
And i hope more videos like the recent one will follow and show further bits of the restoration of his 1953 Deluxe.

I am really speachless that his video and photography skills are just as good as his bus repair skills - and now he renovates an old farm house in France! Hats off, really! =D>

By the way, as i just had that link open again - here are also some very nice detail pics of the bus as well.

They are two different buses. One is a 52, and one is a 53.

Not strictly Barndoor related, but there is great hi res footage in this video.

Frankfurt Automobile Fair 1950

and 1951

and this racy Standard at a 1952 reliability run. I love the DLX trim, extra brake lights, fog lamps, antenna, starting numbers, body bumpers....it even has got rocker trim ....everything !

the video is also chock full with old news reels featuring 356, Veritas, BMW, Karmann split convertible, 300SL prototype etc...

Thanks for posting that.

Those are some nice clean videos of the Barndoors at the Auto Shows.

Here's a larger version of the 1951 Bus line up
