We have just located this old bus which it turns out according to barndoor.dk to be the oldest RHD panel van but also the oldest VW bus of any type known to exist. February 52.

Will be going to a new owner soon for restoration.

I would rather have bullet holes than dent's and rust

Well this one has all three!

This bus was off the road since 1960!

Turbo Bug Sun May 13, 2007 12:13 pm

loving the bullet holes!

FBIVW Sun May 13, 2007 2:49 pm

the best wound is in the cargo door, shot with the door swung open so there's the corresponding ding on the rear quarterpanel behind the bullet hole in the door.

Looking forward to seeing the resto progress...

Tim did it have a rear hatch or was the window cut out?

Are you gonna take it back to Dove Blue or leave the red and white?

Sweet bus :D

Tim, it has those roof strenghener bars like the 51's do. Not seen it on a 52.
Cheers

Krusher's 54 kombi has those roof strengtheners.
