I was wondering if anyone has converted the pop top area of a 73 westy into a sleeping area.. I just got this bus and you cannot sleep up top. I was wondering if there are any ideas on how to also make that a bed? Is it strong enough to support a lot of weight.

I assume you currently have a cot?
I think it takes some hacking and welding to make it into a full bed. I've seen it discussed before. Try searching. |

dude in the campsite next to me at Everybus had modded the top of his '69 so he could sleep up top. just a sheet of plywood or some such, as i recall, but his head would come out the screen when he slept up top. cool rig, not at all unreversible, nothing you couldn't do in your backyard. |

Somebody put instructions on type2.com I THINK.
If you can't find it, I'll look in my favorites.
One of these days.... |
