would oem wheels (alloys) from 1999 audi A4, 15x7 with an ET39 fit an 86 2wd vanagon without needing any mods to the wheels? thanks!
Ps, this is an awesome site!
Nope! You would need to enlarge the centerbores of the wheels to clear the Vanagon's large hubs and you would need spacers and all new mounting hardware. |

Hi Christopher,
thanks for the info... I was kinda afraid that might be the case, so explains why you can buy audi wheels cheaper than MB I guess. Ok, so do you know if the classic VW Chrome hub cap (shallow dish style) will fit my standard 14" steel wheels? If I cant afford a new set of 15s and tires, maybe I can dress up the 14s for now?? At the moment it has mismatched wheel covers... |

I am thinking of doing a full swap
1986 Vanagon wheels/tires to 1973 Bay Window. And vice versa. Both sets of wheels are original that came with the car.
So can someone clarify what might be needed to do that?

Should be just a jack and a breaker bar. Same same. |

No need to put on different studs in either direction, huh? Worth a try to see what it looks like, trying pull it back a little retro.
Now just need to find 3-4 Bay Window wheels near me.
Thanks,
