Hi my name is Bob Johnston and I wanted to see if there was any interest out there in getting a vw car show togather. I have a location which should be plenty big enough. please contact me and let me know if you are interested. [email protected] also for all the out of towners that would like to attend the show i can arrange hotel accomodations right at the site of the show as long as the hotel is not sold out that weekend which i will try to plan the show around that. would love to have it this coming fall on a sat. there will be prizes and all that fun stuff. just need to get some idea of how many cars will want to attend so i can go to the event person and see when the space is available. any condition vw's drive it tow it push it you just need to make sure you take it when you leave :lol:

Hey Bob,
that's a definite! i'm organizing a philly/greater philly area VW Club: Old City Oil Drippers...i'm from around here but spent the last 3yrs in St.Augustine Beach FL where we dubbed the st.aug club the Old City Oil Drippers (OCOD). my last year there is was the prez of the club. they are the only 2 cities that can officially go by Old City, so....here we are.

Free Club, monthly cruises and cruise-ins, friends and family oriented, the st.aug club puts on a free show every year (12th this year), and it just gets larger and larger each year. we'll be sharing the Old City Oil Drippers website...there's a St.Aug and soon to be Philly...

so yeah, if you've got a venue, etc i'm here to help. feel free to pm me!

i was judt out there last week. We often go out there for a daytrip and have friends that live out there and got married in Washington Crossing. That area is great in the Fall especially, as you already know. Hopefully i will have a vehicle when the time comes for your show. I wish you all luck.

Interested? Oh yea,I live in Bucks county.Would be nice to have a show near home instead of driving at least an hour or two to every show.I know of a couple other Bugs in my area that would attend to.When and where were you thinking??

i am also thinking of sept 22nd at peddlers village i just now have to check on the availablity of the space there is a caddie show on sunday but nothing on sat

And that little garage around the corner (forget the name) that always has a handful of air cooled VWs in the lot is suddenly gonna light up with people stopping in to ask "hey, whats the deal with them old volkswagens?" :)

double word, yo. Its a wonderful thing that the bakeries bake overnight and are open for business when the bars are letting out :) A proper pretzel right out of the oven is true bliss.

I work high up in a tower overlooking Benjamin Franklin Parkway. For another upcomming event, I was half-thinking of suggesting having some buses drive down the parkway for a nice aerial shot out my office window.

well i dont know about selling the beer up here but we have a philly pretzel place within walking distance of where the show will be so you can count on that

Sept 22nd sounds good to me, peddlers village would be cool its kind of a tourist attraction and aircooleds would alot of exposure to people who forgot about our fine pieces of machinery.

yep that why i want to have it there plus i work at the golden plough inn at peddlers village so it makes it easy to plan too

you can slurp down at the Chadds Ford winery store(if that is still there) where is this so called vw garage near peddlers village? i have been in that area often enough but i'll be damned if i ever saw a vw garage near there. grrr....

yep the wine store is still there and you can buy cold take out at the hog i just cant sell it there and i have no idea where this vw garage is if anyone does know about it let me know so i can take my bug to them
