vendors are vendors and not engineers or manufacturers they dont design or reverse engineer parts or systems they source parts, and manufacturers. what they do is source a person/company that will design or has designed parts and find a company/person that manufacturers them. they are a crucial communications channel from manufacturer/desginer to end user and back. i dont think they spec the parts or modifications but i really dont know. i am glad they are able to provide this service and make living and deal with the day to day issues without taking it personal and always trying to make the process more efficient (better distribution /availability/quality) and less costly without losing product integrity/funtionality. the communication from end user to manufacturer to designer is crucial and thesamba site helps provide that serivce. hopefully the gripes and complaints and suggestions, etc can have a place to voice their experiences if not the end users could go directly to manufacturer.

Trouble is, once installed and it fails after a short time period, my guess is virtually no one returns it.

Who has returned a bad brake rotor after say...... 10,000 miles?

We buy new ones, just from a different retailer or brand.

We accept crummy parts because they were cheap and we've come to expect crap anyway.

The terminal that broke off of my "new" Alternator wire a week or two ago...... it shouldn't have broken, I'm not returning it after 30,000 miles....... but it should NOT have broken!
I not 100% sure who I got it from,
I've come to expect new battery cables and ends to be substandard
I'm not surprised it broke quite honestly.
