Well let’s just say “not factory applied”..?
Usually an X means eXchange, but I can’t even tell if that’s what that is supposed to be…
Doesn’t really make sense because a normal D case is a small bore 1200cc late featured case that has dual relief, cam bearings, etc. that a normal 1200 doesn’t have. A D1 case would be built in the 70’s sometime IIRC.
That is a much older 36hp case, so no clue what they were up to…? |

| It does have all original crank start tins and pully nut..not sure if that helps in dating at all? It came in a project sept 57 built single cab.. |
