|Since late 2014 there have been some scam ads where the seller is sending out photoshopped titles, often using an Ohio or CA title that has been photo shopped.
The Price / Tax / Date Issued line is the correct font and is original.
The other text is photoshopped.
Real Ohio title example - look familiar? Note same Price / Tax / Date Issued text, among other things.
CA fake title example, used by several scammers in the past with the name/address changed as needed:

Some of the many phone #s used and have been reported to the site are below. They are sorted by number.
Email me if you get a text from a new number and I can add it to this listing

|Message reported to me recently, this is a pretty common thing they say
Quote: Can you assure me that i will not be disappointed with it.I'm ready to pay your asking price and to be honest, i wanted to buy this for my Dad, but the issue is i am an marine officer and i do have a contract to go for which starts tomorrow and am leaving any moment from now.The contract is strictly no call due to the lack of reception on the sea area. But I'm able to access email anytime so my only quickest payment option is PayPal as i can send money via PayPal anytime..Since I'm requesting this transaction to be done via PayPal, i will be responsible for all the paypal fee/charges on this transaction.so kindly get back to me now with your paypal email address info so that i can proceed with the payment.

|From a recent scammer conversation I was notified about:
Scammer email wrote: I want you to know that this is not a scam so you have nothing to be worried about all you just need to complete the transaction so that PayPal can release the money for not your PayPal account,so kindly go to the nearest store and get it done
The scammer (buyer) was insisting that the seller send money to his shipper via Western Union. Once that was done, payment for the car would be released into his Paypal account.
Do not send money to a "shipper".
You are sending money to the scammer when you do this.
You will lose any money you send.

|Scammers often use a fake driver's license and title as proof they own the vehicle.
They are often obviously photoshopped but not always - sometimes they look almost real
