One more. Time to go back to work. :(

Many not so stock hacks for that privacy curtain. :D

So, was there a front windshield curtain like the westy style? I mean, earth magnets are cool and all - they work to hold sheets in place, they work in the 21 window. I'm just curious how that was handled with a child cot in these campers.

I started a search for photos of a snap in that spot, when I realized that the spring wire curtain thing was actually what was used. I have not had my 65 Riv in many years now, so the memory fades. But that is exactly what Riviera installed for the privacy curtain.

I don't think there were curtains in the windshields. I don't recall Riv having installed a child's cot up there, but they may have at some point.

LOL Arthur, you're lucky to have such an original interior...the trim piece and lamp above the driver's side windows is intact and those (along with the Riviera version of the spice rack) are really hard to come by!

Here's mine...
On a recent backroads drive, you can see the traditional picture window.

AHA!!!!! After all these years I find out my '67 poptop was not a Westfalia but a Riviera. I've always wondered about that big driver side picture window with screened sliders on the ends, and the screened sliders on the cargo doors. Every other T1 poptop I've seen has louvered windows. Sorry, no pics, had:

- Safari windows
- Side tent (blue/white)
- Walkthrough with roofvent (loved that vent)
- Roof rack
- Icebox with a sink on top
- South Wind petrol heater
- Body color was single tone, I called it Beige, seems to me it was Ivory, I remember it being a bit darker than yours. Pretty sure it was the original paint. Had white front and rear factory bumpers.
- Bought it in Denver, CO 1984, sold it in San Diego in 1990.
- VIN 217010909. Sure would like to know what happened to it.

Same interior layout as I've seen in Riviera pics, wood broomstick for the dining table. Same headliner and doorliners, same door for the passenger side closet at the rear. Same shelves over the bed and closet, same door under the bed.

I never noticed any "Riviera" labeling, but it did have what looked to be an authentic Westfalia tin plate that was loose in the underdash.

Was yours imported into Seattle as well? For that matter, would all Rivieras have a Seattle import code? Nice buses. If any of you have more pics please post them. I have not seen many other Rivieras and I am thoroughly enjoying this new-found solidarity!

Oddly enough my bus came into the Baltimore area first, but must have headed West quickly.

And triple6, what's your VIN #? I'm curious to see how far apart ours are. I'm 217089722.
That '67 I mentioned above was VIN 217010909.

Riviera buses in this era had no identifying labels. The tag you had may be a state issued RV identification that was at one point affixed to the passenger side dogleg.

Did any era of Riviera Campers have ID plates or badges of anykind? Which years?

Thanks in advance!

In this photo, stolen directly from the samba gallery, you can see a couple of spring wires running across the ceiling above the guy's head. These are for privacy curtains. Pretty sure that the ends were screwed into the hole you are wondering about. Or, there was a snap screwed in there for a different version of privacy curtain.

Hey! Thats me in that picture! Those springs had some ratty curtains on them. The side curtains and the rear hatch were on 1/4" white aluminum tubes with little hook hangers. I found the exact ones at home depot, so I'm not sure they're original.

I need some help! I want to attempt a reproduction of the missing Riviera light fixture over the long window (1966 era). Length, height and how wide the lip for the shade is. Thanks for the help
