Petfinder.com is another great site to find pets. Lots of shelters list there. We got our new cat from that site.

better yet fight your local laws against puppy mills!! Also if you [b]HAVE TO HAVE[/] a "purebred" by from a reputable breeder tht does health checks, pennhip, and all that jazz... or jus save a ton of money and get one from the shelter. Already microchipped, spay/nuetered and up to date on all shots for like $100 bucks!!!!

Not always true - Our purebred Sheltie is very intelligent.
Agreed though that many mutts are very intelligent and can make wonderful pets.

Our family adopted an abused house rabbit a few weeks ago, and she is shaping up to be a real sweetie.

We're very happy with our pound mutt. He grew up on the streets of Newark, NJ so he's very smart...he had to be, to survive 7 months there before we got him.

You know the old saying;

"the more people I meet, the more I like my dog" (or in notchbacks case, cat)

However, don't give pets as presents. They often end up back in shelters.

the sad thing about it is, the worst treatment to animals is happening

IN WISCONSIN AND ILLINOIS. WISCONSIN HAS THE WORST PUPPY MILLS IN THE USA AND MOST LIKELY THE WORLD !
AND ILLINOIS DOES THE MEANEST LAB TESTS ON ANIMALS (most are killing dogs )!!!!!!!!!!!
