We're in Jacksonville heading towards New Orleans tomorrow and need mechanic recommendations ASAP. We have a hole in our fuel hose and the coolant hose. We have a hissing sound coming from the engine that we cannot figure out. Our power steering fluid is also leaking quite a bit.

We've talked to our mechanic that services our vanagon regularly and he recommend us get the fuel hose fixed immediately. We have called shops all over the area and no one has availability to see us before the weekend.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We have called all shops on the samba and roadhaus.

Many Vans have burst into flames from a small fuel leak!

Fix it yourself, do what you must but don't drive another foot!

Although I have not used them personally for any repair work, I contacted East Coast VW Restorations in St. Augustine to do a PPI on a van I was thinking of buying. They were very accommodating and responsive. Worth a shot. Good luck.

And who did you use as a shop in DC? They shouldn't have let you take a trip to Florida without new fuel lines. Let alone around town.
