so i had bought a mirror, its in an original VW box and on the chrome there is a mark with 3 stars and germany written on it, when i had showed the mirror to a collector he told me that the mark on the back of the mirror is a company which use to make mirrors for early prosche 356's
does anyone know what is the make?

OK, thanks for the pics. That logo is different than the Mall brand logo.
That is from a company called Driester, or somthing like that. I will post some pics tomorrow.

IN2VWs - That is one cool reference book you have - what is the title? is it for VW only or generic German autos?

Hi Mark,

It is a Genuine VW book, from Volkswagen Australia.
At first the it looks like a very boring book, and most of it is, except one chapter, which has the logos and marks of the supliers for VW in Germany and Australia.

the one i have is a VW as it was still in the VW box, now what i would like to know is what year was it made.... maybe you have it on some book.

The round mirror is in a 1954 Accessory catalog for Volkswagens.

It mounts to the side of the front hood. Like in this example:
