Hi All,

My alternator on my 85 Vanagon has been loose for some time, and as been wabbling about when driving. Before I could replace the bolt, the 90W Amp connection has come unplugged, and the van will not start at all. I've been trying to find where the connection goes, but I have been unsuccesful at finding the place to plug the amp cord in. Where does that bugger go? If anyone has a wiring diagram of the alternator, please post it.

I think your gonna have bigger problems than where the amp cord goes...
If that alt has been wobbling then I'd bet you might have striped the alt hold down stud or the bolt &
I would check that water pump cause that wobbling has been stressing the belt & putting all sorts of strain on the pump ...

I would also try an get a hold of the cross support bracket for a 2.1 motor that goes from the front top of the block to the top alt hold down bracket that helps to stablize the old 1.9 alternators ...

/me has had the same issue on 1.9
